I had a very interesting day at Make do and meet, I don’t really know how to sum it all up… I’m still ‘processing’ it all….and feeling a bit daunted truth be told. The main thing I need to focus on though is getting into gear for Christmas again so I’m going to do that and try not worry too much about everything else for now.

Anyway half term and Exmouth Festival coming up. This year I’m going to just enjoy the festival with the kids, but I’ll be working from home (if I can get them off Club Penguin!) so I can tidy up my online stores while I leave Tarot at the print shop to manage orders.

Oh and finally The White Approach Lifestyle is now OPEN! If you are in Exmouth or near please pop in, it is such a beautiful space with lots of one-off vintage homewares and I have a few of my last remaining original screenprints for sale there. I’ll be there on Thursday’s holding fort. Hope to see you there.

While I’m here I might as well show off a couple of the new very pretty photos taken by Capture By Lucy of all my greeting cards… am just in the process of uploading them all to my NOTHS shop and here on my website now. I really recommend Lucy if you are in the market for some beautiful product photography, I met her at a Crikey It’s Vintage event in Exeter back in December, and have been following her blog full of gorgeous photos for a few months now, so I knew she’d do a good job! I am really pleased with them, I love the styling of them with the curious little props.

I have also just sent in my entries for the Nothonthehighstreet.com Make Awards. I’ve never entered myself for awards like this before …I guess I always thought you were just picked… well I found it quite difficult not to cringe as I was writing it but at the same time it would be such a good boost…. so I decided to hit the ‘Submit’ button!

So now on the 22nd May I go up to London to the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden to ‘Make Do and Meet’. An event for NOTHS partners… a chance to meet all the other partners, attend some inspiring talks and workshops as well attend the Award Ceremony. I’m really looking forward to it, and fingers crossed eh?!

Oh and also some more news…. sorry didn’t think I had this much to update! In May my lovely friend Karen is taking the plunge and opening her own shop in Exmouth. Since my shop/studio is no longer a ‘retail space’ (see my previous blog post) I am moving my original art work and prints to ‘The White Approach – Lifestyle’. Karen’s plan is to create a destination for vintage homewares, a beautiful gallery for artists and makers to sell their work and to also run workshops. I am really pleased to be involved, and am looking forward to working with Karen.

We’ve had a busy few months, lots to update the blog with so here goes….

Firstly I’m going to show off my super duper new photos of the colour-in posters which were taken by Kimberly Rainford at her Woodbury studio. Special thanks to my gorgeous little model, Oakley. You can see more photos > here <

There is also my NEW Personalised Family Tree Colour In Poster! now available to buy online! A great gift for Father’s Day, or for budding genealogists! Great for getting all the family involved and learning family history.

Secondly I was chosen by the Blog and Buy Sale website to be featured in their Spring Wish List. A fantastic showcase for creative sellers … I love this print by Wordplay Design and these socks by Chattyfeet …

Finally last Friday we headed up to London for a meeting at NOTHS HQ…. it was good to hear what NOTHS have planned for the year and we showed them some of the new products we are working on and got some great feedback.

I should also just mention here that we’ve had a bit of a change around. I’m no longer working from Re:solution shop…. it is now Close Up studio ! You can read more about our change here.

We changed the packaging on the Colour In Posters, for retailers they will now be in a labelled cardboard tube. If you are interested in becoming a stockist I now have the 2013 catalogue, trade price list/t&c’s and order form PDF’s in my wholesale shop available to download.

I finally met some fellow Notonthehighstreet sellers / tweeters like @Snapdragonjane, @cupcakesforclara, @dotsandspotsbiz @meganclaireuk and Jenny @wearenoths too! Hello to my lovely neighbours Kathryn, @buttongirltrudy and @sabivodesign too!

Overall we had a great time in London. On Friday night we went to see Les Mis movie and on Saturday we set up much quicker than expected so in the afternoon we headed into Central London to Hamleys (to bring back toys for the children) and had a nose around Liberty and Selfridges.

We decided to re-booked for next year January 2014, and we have also just decided to book Top Drawer Autumn this year. Might also book Pulse but not sure yet. I will be much more confident to do it all myself next time, which then sorts out childcare and enables us to keep our print shop open. I have a better idea on how to compact it all down too, so I don’t have to faff about with the car parking!

Until then it is back to usual at the shop…  the Notonthehighstreet Spring Gift Guide is out in February with our Personalised Colour In Easter Posters in… & we have lots of new ideas for posters, products & cards over the coming year:)

We have had a few days rest but mostly busy designing the new Easter poster for the Notonthehighstreet.com Spring Gift Guide. Just sent off the posters to HQ for a photoshoot in the new year. In the meantime here is a sneak peek… a pic of my daughter Bea testing out the new design! We are also busy prepping for Top Drawer London…working on the card and print ranges and we have decided to start selling 2 sizes of the poster in the new year… Large (4ft) & the Giant (6ft).

2012 has been amazing and 2013 is going to be even more amazing I know it! Happy new year to all my wonderful family, friends and customers. Love Cx

Sorry for the lack of posts, but we have been crazy busy with the Christmas tree posters! It is amazing, the orders have been rolling in from notonthehighstreet since the catalogue was delivered and it is not even December yet! It is in the second smaller catalogue due out soon too, and in an marketing email due to be sent to all customers on the 22nd Nov.

So thanks to that… we are able to…. our next big news… go to Top Drawer in January! This time last year I wrote how it was just not possible with the shop, the children… but this year things are a bit different. Thanks to my sister who is currently on maternity leave I have someone to come and look after the children. Thanks to my brother who is now working for Hilton Hotels, for getting us great rates to make our stay more luxurious and affordable! Thanks to my husband for deciding to close the shop for a few days, and come along to help me! January is a quiet month generally in the shop, so we figured we can take the time off as such! I’m very nervous, and I’ve got so much work to do before then to prepare for the show.

I was lucky to win camping weekend tickets to the Wilderness Festival this summer, the weather was great and we all had a fab time. Thank you Vintage!
